If you are considering counselling/therapy, it is natural to be curious about the process and what it might involve, as well as wonder, ‘how will it help me?’
Counselling allows you to talk about your issues and concerns in a dependable and confidential space with someone who is trained to listen and support you. Whether you’re dealing with tough experiences like trauma, or everyday challenges, for example anxiety, depression, or difficult emotions, remember that everyone’s experience is different, and we’ll go at a pace that feels right for you. I appreciate how much it may have taken for you to get to this point to reach out, which is a significant step in itself. I also acknowledge that feeling safe enough in your therapy depends on the trusting relationship between you and your counsellor. When the connection feels right within the therapeutic relationship, it becomes possible to explore what you need to, at your pace.
I’m Ally, a BACP accredited and registered therapist, working with 16-18 year olds and adults. My therapy practice is based near Haslemere, Surrey, ten miles south of Guildford, and offers a supportive, calm and structured space, where you can reflect and explore at your own pace. I also welcome enquiries from clients in the surrounding areas, including Godalming, Chiddingfold, Cranleigh, Farnham, Petersfield, and Midhurst. If there is something you feel you would like to explore further, please get in touch either by phone or email. I offer a fifteen minute call, by Zoom or phone, as an opportunity for us to meet each other, and answer any initial questions you might have.
